Local Food Hero is a show is for the self proclaimed gourmets, the undercover foodies, those who just like to cook, those who grow their own food and those who simply enjoying eating. Maybe you watch TV cooking shows, listen to radio food shows, read restaurant reviews but wonder what is actually going on with food AND sustainability here in MN? We are here to explore the greener side of culinary worlds within Minnesota and nationally, hear directly from local chefs and farmers, interview national policy makers and researchers and discuss how we can further relish in the joys of good food.

A little bit about ourselves, we both work at a nonprofit called Renewing the Countryside. We gather and showcase profiles of farmers, artists, business owners, community leaders, nonprofit organizers, youth and others who are modeling sustainable rural development. We accomplish our goals by sharing stories of rural renewal, building public awareness and support for sustainable endeavors, providing practical assistance and networking opportunities for those working to improve rural America, and fostering connections between urban and rural people.
