On January 21, 2010, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that corporations are entitled to spend unlimited funds in our elections. The recent court decision in Citizens United v. Federal Election Comission has sparked a wave of protest against the corporate hijacking of the First Amendment. The First Amendment was never intended to protect corporations.

This cannot stand. Free speech is for people, not corporations. We must act now!

To correct the damage the Supreme Court has done to the First Amendment, we need to pass a constitutional amendment of our own that puts people ahead of corporations. We seek to restore the First Amendment to its original purpose: to protect the free speech rights of people. We’ll achieve this by:

Professional violinist Skye Steele gave an impromptu performance to a manager of a Target store located near Steele’s home of Brooklyn, New York. The message, set to an upbeat bluesy tune on the mandolin: a protest of Target Stores’ decision to give $150,000 to MnForward, the political action group that supports Tom Emmer.
